What is BrightonSoup?

First things first, we’re not a soup kitchen.

We host live events where we bring local people and great ideas together and inspire community engagement. A bit like Dragon’s Den, but without the dragons – just a warm, friendly, supportive group of local people. And delicious soup.

Why soup? Well it’s a great economic way to feed a room full of people. Especially when you want all of the money raised from the tickets and donations to go to the people doing the great work to better their community.

And yes, all of the money goes to the projects.

Let’s explain…

How does it work?

Tickets for Soup events cost from £5. For that, the audience hears four local projects pitch their ideas. Each presenter has 5 minutes to share their idea, and then answer questions from the audience.

Everyone then has a bowl of delicious soup (donated by our local chefs), chats with each other about their favourite projects and who to vote for. The they enjoy a great raffle and listen to our musical entertainment – whilst we count the votes.

At the end of the evening the winner project gets all of the ticket and because of generous contributor donations, this can be around £1,000 – and we’ve been able to support runners-up with £100/150 each.

Have you got an idea that would benefit your community?
