Why Soup? It’s a cheap, healthy and very tasty way of feeding people so all the ticket money can go to the winning project.
We have had to adapt how BrightonSoup works for now, so we are going online in March 2021. Following the same principles of pitches, soup, music and voting, just online.
You can listen to how it will work in this interview on Radio Reverb.
Anyone can apply to BrightonSoup. You just need an idea or project that benefit the people of Brighton & Hove City. You don’t need formal plans, be an organisation or charity. You just need a great idea
Oh, and be willing to stand up in a room full of very friendly people and tell them about it (or have a friend do it :)). Don’t worry, we give you training and support you through the process.
On the night, if enough people are interested and excited about your project, they will vote you their money. The great thing is that even if you don’t win the vote you can still make great connections and get support and help anyway.
Inspired by detroitsoup.com, we’re doing it Brighton & Hove style.
Come along and be a dragon – a Soup Dragon, if you will 🙂
Brighton & Hove County Council were the first to support us and were crucial in helping us develop and grow. More recently the Sussex Community Foundation has helped us consolidate our growth and supported our trustee development.
We thank them both very much.
