We have sadly not been able to hold a Soup at all in 2020, but we are currently working on a virtual Soup to be held on Zoom in March 2021.
Although we won’t all be able to be in the same room, we aim to recreate the spirit and feel of a Soup as much as we can. Pitching will be a 10 minute presentation as usual (4 minute pitch and approx 6 minutes for questions afterwards), just via Zoom to an online audience.
It will still be a fun evening with the opportunity to persuade a group of friendly people to fund your community project. You can read about what it’s like to pitch at Brighton Soup here (although it will be via Zoom, it will be very much the same, just from home).
So who can pitch? Anyone. You just need a project or great idea. It can be a free service, social enterprise, workshop or a way of improving your local landscape. Educational, artistic, inspirational, purely functional or just desperately needed.
As long as your project is charitable in some way and benefits the people in the community of Brighton & Hove, you can apply.
We pick four different projects for each event, so if you want a chance to be part of our next soup submit your project below, by 31 January 2021.
We only have 4 people pitching at each event. They are chosen by a project selection committee who meet up 3 weeks before the event to discuss your submissions and make their decision. We like there to be a variety of projects on the night: small, big, local, new, ongoing, etc… But ultimately it is down to the committee and which ideas appeal the most.
You will be informed shortly after if you have been successful or not. If you are not selected for a particular event, you are always welcome to submit again for any following ones.
